In my free time I like to do a lot of thinking, and I thought it was about time I started to write some of my opinions down on my worldview. Perhaps years from now I can see how I have progressed into the person I wanted to become. Or maybe I will change all together ( Read more... )

Who votes for Bush? csaduckie January 16 2006, 14:56:06 UTC
People who hated Kerry more. I don't think everyone that voted for Bush voted for him because they agreed with all of his beliefs and policies. The problem with our democracy is that is it a two party system with no middle ground. People have to choose the lesser of two evils. I'm not saying Bush is the right person to be president this term, but ask yourself this: would we be better off if Kerry were our head of executive?

I think that in the wake of 9/11 and the problems associated with Bush's first term in office the country needed new leadership. Bushs course of action in response to terrorism only caused enemies in the worldstage. By overriding the UN(which has no teeth) and attacking first Afghanistan and then Iraq he has only fueled a fire which has no signs of stopping. This has caused ramifications in terms of attacks on our allies in Great Britain (subways). In this case a shift from the republican party to any democrat would have been more beneficial to the country. In addition, we are now in the midst of one of the largest scandals in Congress in the last 100 years. (since the Teapot Dome Scandal of the 20's) I will be shocked if the democrats do not take power back in the executive in 08 (and perhpas retain this power for a significant era)

damn pj. You may be thinking a bit too much in your free time. Try other relaxing yet mind stretching activities such as the jumble in the sunday paper or perhaps meditation. Also I hear video games are in these days as well.

Secondly, in a reply to this statement: "would we be better off if Kerry were our head of executive?" Yes. I mean the only place to go is up. For starters maybe not every country in the world would hate us as much if he were.

Lastly, in response to your comment mr pj, "I go to school not in the pursuit of money but in the pursuit of knowledge", I give you perhaps my largest and loudest to this date in time.. Abraham!!
