Out On Holiday

Jun 14, 2008 17:49

God was out on holiday the day I was born
He forgot to bless me with his grace to go on
He overlooked my soul while the sun went to sleep
The moon shone this Friday through the summer heat
It found my body, where he wrote over my head
"Never again will you have to worry" he said
"Goodbye to the things you've never lived"
And it burns this blood, it hurts this lead
I've got one more time to let it go
One last night to embrace this through the storm

I've got you on one hand
Halfway inside this lie
"Don't ever hurt me with your rage
Leave your battles to your friends"
I'll never let you in
I'll wear these prayers as your sins

Your request has been replied
Don't ask for what you cannot hide
Invent a fortress with your dreams
Close both doors, I'll keep you in
Drown slowly behind these walls
When you realise what you had destroyed us all

It's been too long for us to understand
Take me as I am with both of your hands
These ruins and these castles won't make up for what we are
It'll never matter in our lifes

God was out on holiday the day I was born
I opened my eyes but inside I was torn
But aren't we all?
