I bought The History Boys on DVD, a couple of days ago, and have watched it twice now. I'm still pretty blah about the movie, it was okay and watchable, but a little weird. I don't know. It was really funny at times, though, especially James Corden. So here is what was supposed to be mini picspam, but turned into a pretty big one of Dakin aka ( Read more... )

How could anyone not love Dominic from both of these movies? ;)
The movie wasn't even bad, it was just strange :/ I did find some of it funny though, like the french scene.
Starter For 10 is next on my list, hee! And James McAvoy is in it, too. So I'll definietly have to check that out :D

There should be more icons of PE kit Dakin, I feel.

If you head over to history_boys and search around a bit, there's a post with a translation of the French scene. You should try and read the play, it might make more sense then when you can study it a bit. I love both.

Thanks :) I didn't make it, but it is pretty.

You did better than me then, I had absolutely no idea what was going on until I read the translation! (I did German at school...)

Yay THB! It's my favourite film of all time apart from Edward Scissorhands. I didn't think it was at all strange though, stylised perhaps, but I thought it was everything a film should be (rather than vaguely sketching romanticised life). I've seen it more times than I thought physically possible, and although Dominic is miles away from the sort of guy I'd usually like, it's impossible not to fall in love with any one of those boys after seeing that film. I'm ashamed to say I've seen Mamma Mia three times now, despite not having the least interest in Abba...

James Corden is barely in Starter for Ten, but he's hilarious. Dominic's part's quite a bit bigger, and he basically plays Dakin sans ambition.

The best thing he's ever been in (aside THB, obviously) is the BBC TV adaption of Sense and Sensibility, and he's BEAUTIFUL in it, so if you haven't seen it that should definately be next on the list (it's out on DVD practically everywhere)!

I did like it, but something about it I found strange, I don't know what. Hee, I definietly fell in love with Dakin, though :D I've also seen Mamma Mia three times too :)

I've actually downloaded Sense and Sensibility and plan to watch it soon, I've heard good things about it.
