006 - Accidental Video

Dec 07, 2010 12:39

[The screen shifts a bit, as if it's being handled a little more roughly than needs be until it stops, showing that the thing's pretty stuck in the snow. A little bit of the screen at the bottom is obscured by it, though overall it's still easy enough to see ( Read more... )

[Cooper wants to know what you're talking about, but he'll be tactful about it.] Memories will always be there to haunt us. It sounds like yours are particularly bad.

[He pauses a second upon hearing the voice, shifting to kind of fall back to grab the gear despite the protests of his Seel. He figures he might as well be polite about answering instead of just ignoring replies.]

Memories are haunting, yes. Though sometimes they end up being there for a better cause, things that happened because of them would not have led to other things down the line.

[He nods.] One must always remember the importance of seeing good things in any given situation.

I try to remember that every time. I would not have met the people that I met, would not have the experiences I have had, but, on the other side... [He trails off for a moment, hand patting Akemi's head a little.]

I would probably also have been dead way before now.

[Lithuania's guessed that this person didn't mean to speak, but he seems sad and so Lithuania speaks up.]

I'm sorry for listening to this video...but it's better to think about happier things. The snow can bring a lot of bad memories, but it can't all be bad?

[Of course it figured he'd say something like that and the Gear would be on, that was just his luck. He scrambles to grab the gear, forcing a bit of a smile in return.]

It is my fault for being so careless to let the video be turned on like this, so do not worry about it. And, ah, I do enjoy the snow by itself. But the combination of the snow and how tiny these cities are remind me of the bad.

[Lithuania knows well enough that this person isn't smiling for real, but he doesn't say anything and only smiles brighter.]

Ah, I can understand to some degree. I've found it's always best to just keep busy and try to remember the better things.

[Usually he feels he can fool people into thinking he's happy, this is one of those times where he's just trying to put up that little mask of his own.]

I was trying to do so, but it is hard when most of my team does not wish to train in such cold weather. Really, I think only Akemi cares for the snow as it does not seem to effect her.

It almost always snowed where I came from, yes.

Hn. Understood.

Maybe just reading a book by the fireplace or something then?

[Kisame comes and sits down next to Haku quietly. He seems to be enjoying the snow for the most part, but his Pokémon aren't too pleased. After a few minutes he finally speaks]

We were about the same age.

[He's assuming that Haku ended up killing someone close to him]

[He starts a bit as Kisame sits down next to him, though he slowly calms down once he realizes who it is. A tiny forced smile is made, pulling his knees up to his chest.]

What happened, Kisame-san? [A gentle question, not anywhere near forceful.]

The graduation exam. A classmate--for many, a friend--and we were given a choice. Kill or die. I chose to live and walked home in blood, an independent ninja.

[Kisame will never admit the friend thing. And family, what family?]

[France is currently hedging 50/50 on Haku killing whoever he's talking about or having been an innocent spectator. Still, he looks concerned.]

Are you alright?

[What if it's a mixture of both? ... Sort of.]

I think I will be fine, it has been some time since I have thought about this. It brings bad memories, though they always fade back away for a bit if given enough time.

[Well, philosophically, anything is possible.]

[France smiles gently.]

Hopefully you will be able to make new and better memories this time around. Are you well otherwise?
