damn you and your brand-new fic that you post just past my bedtime which I do not have the willpower to resist!

augh this is so lovely and so sad and I just, for someone who loves kids as much as Leo does to still be single and childless when he retires is a mini-tragedy in itself. and whatever happened to Patricia - I liked that you didn't make it obvious, by the way, whether they'd gotten divorced or she'd died - and what it did to David, too. but there are such charming moments throughout the whole thing, too! David's cameo as king of offsides in the friendly, and Leo on the phone with his mother when Andres and David come in, and Geri's little princesses. and you do end on a hopeful note, so I guess I'll forgive you for breaking my heart a little bit.

Hmm, this is intriguing and different, and quite good. A bit too sad for my current mood, but alas, good fic knows no timing :) Thanks for sharing - I really liked it.

Just one thing: mate isn't drunk like normal tea, in individual cups. At least not here.

Yes, matte leão is made of the same plant, but it's completely different. No one calls it mate like the traditional drink - for one thing, it tastes completely different.

The mood in this fic is so sad that even the tiny bits of happy things don't make up for the pain I'm filling in my chest right now ):
Maybe it's because if feels like there are so many things left unsaid and hanging in the air.
