The books I have read since the beginning of January are listed below. Ones that I would recommend to everyone are emphasized:

I gave Ethan Frome a shot because the age of innocence is pretty cool.

That being said, the whole "swamp yankees in love whose affair is revealed by a broken pickle dish" concept is so fun to mock.

The words of someone who has never had to write a middle-school essay about "the symbolism of the pickle dish."

It's sad when you think of how many books - that may otherwise be decent - have been ruined by shitty English teachers.
