*G* Loved this, Bren! It's definitely a very vivid presentation of Gloin in peace. I love how his contentment mixes with his hopes for the future, and the willingness to go into battle if needed, but definitely expecting to remain in a settled, comfortable life.

And this--
a fine wife with an equally fine beard - one that rivaled his own, no less
--made me smile. Great image, and I love the pride and affection in it.
