I knew I had to write this from Brendan's POV, because I think his journey offered the most complexity, in terms of how he learns to deal with having Tommy back in his life, and how he starts learning to deal with Paddy, and how to integrate both of them into his life with Tess and the girls. He's such a fascinating character under the surface.

And Brendan helping Pilar out was literally the first thing I thought after I saw the movie the first time - that Brendan would find a way to take care of both his and Tommy's obligations, because that's what family does. :)
