Ouch. My heart. So bittersweet.

This could so easily be movie-verse canon, tying together what we're told in the original films with the new one.

Lovely work.

Thank you so much! That's exactly what I was going for - a way to tie the XMFC film in with the other movie (and comic) canon. :)

Glad you liked it!

I don't need to know canon to feel the heartbreak in this. Well done.

He may not have lived here as long as Mystique, but he knew the best part of himself had remained behind when he'd left.

Oh sweetie, you made me cry in such a wonderful way. Thank you.

"What I never felt, not once, was regret. Whatever we've done to each other, whatever we will do to each other, I don't regret you."

I also really liked how you had Erik come back here, sort of tied things together with Cerebro and the recruiting of the new kids. And how Mystique was about being home, the air about her like she belonged there, like she was sort of marking this place as hers again, more so because she knew it no longer was.

Loved this.

SO thrilled you liked it, hon! :) I do have such a soft spot for Erik and all of his considerable issues and baggage where Charles is concerned. He's just such a fascinating mix of contradictions.

Plus, I always wanted to tie in XMFC with the first two X-Men films somehow, and this fic challenge seemed like a good way to do that, especially where Mystique was concerned, and where the "new" Cerebro was concerned.

Thanks for reading!!!

Thank you so much!!! :) I like to think it means something that they're going to use the time to work their way back to each other, at least for a little while.
