The Splendids 2011

The National Television Awards have just happened. I was not happy with many of the winners. Under this cut, you will find all the winners, but also who I think should have won, in my own awards ceremony which I call The Splendids

MICHAEL MCINTYRE, kind of a big deal and I do not get why? The things he says, they hardly even ever count as jokes, as funny things, he just SAYS WORDS, he just says really kind of NORMAL THINGS in his slightly silly voice and GRINS and THAT IS ALL HE DOES, and his face shines a bit under the lights.

I have literally never laughed at anything Michael Mcintyre has done. Whew! Rant over, sorry.

THE SPLENDIDS: I support this concept entirely.

I've laughed at one thing McIntyre's done, and that was signing on for Britain's Got Talent. I laughed a lot.

Oh, and I did laugh when he said he looked like Tom Cruise with sweets in his mouth, because he does a bit. But that's abour it. I have one episode of the Russell Howard and Jon Richardson podcasts where Jon is hosting with McIntyre while Russell's in Australia, and it's the only one I won't listen to.

jfc, did not know he'd signed on for Britain's Got Talent. WHAT.

it doesn't make me laugh so much as... get a bit confused. What on earth is he going to bring to BGT.

though I suppose this explains that moment at the Comedy Awards when they were all 'annnnd now we're going to go live to Michael Mcintyre at Britain's Got Talent!' which I did not at ALL understand at the time.

Well, he is sat in Piers Morgan's old seat. Cowell's been replaced by David Hasselhoff. It's a bit shocking that the Hoff is probably the most talented judge on a talent show.

They should just let Ant & Dec judge instead.

I just thought I should let you know I referenced Phillip Schofield in class the other day and no one got it because obvious, I live in America, but I thought you would be proud.

Yes to everything you said about Emmerdale, I'd love to know why they're so largely ignored. Argh.

Also, Emmett's 'tache needed its own song and dance routine, complete with a kick-line of twinks wearing bacon costumes.
