Quick note on timeline, though - I assume this is the thing that led Spock to pursue the Kolinahr. It says at the end of the fic that they wouldn't speak of this for over a decade, which would make sense since TMP was released 11 years after TOS finished. BUT, the Novelization makes it pretty explicit that the events of TMP happened 3 years after the 5 year mission (which is actually pretty convenient if you consider season 1 as the first year of the 5 year mission, because it means that K&S hook up just in time for Spock's second pon-farr, which y'know, makes it interesting that GR chose to make it 3 years rather than not bothering to define when it was set, like the movie did...)

Well it could be, but I didn't specifically aim for it to be. I always had that moment pictured as Kirk being the instigator, and that's for another fic entirely. XD
