just ended on the east coast.... and hopefully i don't need to worry about spoilers in the discussion thread?
the episode was a little bit all over the place, but some parts were so very good. thought Santana's coming out to her parents was way too easy, but i guess that was setting us up for the creys in the scene w/ her Abuela. can naya tug at your heartstrings or what? interesting that she clearly loves and respects her grandmother who we learned last epi has been pretty cruel to her throughout her entire life.
a little annoyed w/ the Finn-worship of the writers, but i guess i should have expected that. I also don't get why everyone would be so supportive of Santana. A little more understanding perhaps b/c the now know her motivations, but damn, the girl has been horrible to them... i can't see them getting over that in one song. i would have gone darker w/ santana for much longer than 1 episode, but this is glee. i just hope her struggle is not over in the gleeverse as that would be a huge disservice to the story she

That ad was illegal, but then so was Sue's ads re Burt Hummel so Glee reality. The whole thing is a disgusting misogynistic and stereotypical mess IMO and I'm done with it.
i liked this episode a lot! it got me excited for everyone again. Finn got annoying but I'm never NOT annoyed with him. i guess i didn't expect so much santana because i didnt read any spoilers..
BRITTANA CHEEK KISS ON CAMERA AND THE DUMB ASS JEW FRO WAS ALL UP IN THE WAYS. >.>
Naya, of course, is always perfection and she carries her scenes and her scenes with Cory tbh so damn well. The conversation between Santana and her grandmother was absolutely heartbreaking. Ugh, just the little things she does for Santana's character is flawless. Kissing the ballot? So darling. I know glee is all about ~family and forgiveness~, but I can't believe how easily they forgave Santana. She's kind of an asshole lol, but I love her regardless

This episode made me rage. Why the hell was Finn anywhere near this storyline, while Brittany, Santana's girlfriend, had like three lines the whole episode? Any coupley stuff between them was background stuff Naya/Hemo probably threw in, while Finn was two seconds away from declaring his love for her (actually he did)! She told her parents off screen?! Finn doesn't apologize/get called out for outing her?! I can't.
What did you expect?ext_909937November 30 2011, 19:18:26 UTC
Honestly, I'm done with the show. I'm just gonna stick to fanfic cause at least those writers know what they're doing.
Anyway, the deal with Santana's grandmother and parents was an obvious cop-out. The writers wanted a rejection story line for Santana, but without consequences - losing her parents, home, financial security (you know, the INTERESTING parts). This way they can write just ONE scene with her grandmother and go back to Klaine or whatever it is the writers are actually interested in. :/
Also, why did they use 'I Kissed A Girl' by Katy Perry like it was the embodiment of lesbianism? That song has nothing to do with lesbians. It's a song about a STRAIGHT girl getting DRUNK and EXPERIMENTING. :(

Also, this was probably the most offensive of all Glee episodes towards women. It's a total misrepresentation of, not only lesbians, but women in general. With all the Finntana crap shown in the episode, they made it really seem like Santana was incapable of handling this on her own and NEEDED Finn.

Also, Ryan Murphy hates women.
