Driving in Germany when some flashes his headlights at you it means -get out of the bloody way,stupid-, in the UK or that part where I live it means -after you-, how is it in the US?

used to be a gang threat, i heard. something if you flash them back, you get shot. ahh, urban legends.

but yeah, I agree with all the posted comments.. all mean about the same thing, just depends on your situation :]

sometimes to warn you about an upcoming cop
or,
it used to be a gang symbol or something [supposedly,] & if you flashed it to the opposing "gang" they'd follow you to your house and shoot you.

haha-yeah. ^that's what i've heard.

...the uk, it means both "get out of the way!" *and* "after you", depending on the situation.

In england, the ACTUAL meaning is supposed to be simply -'I'm here'. Thats what I was taught on my lessons anyway.

But I take it to mean all of the above. :D

It's not just 'after you' in the UK though; I mean, it could be a speed trap warning, it could be that you've not dimmed your lights, or that you've pissed someone off!
