Seconding the "Pride & Prejudice". Wet Colin Firth will keep you warm through anything.

And if you're a House fan, you'll get a big shock if you watch Blackadder or Fry and Laurie (or their version of Jeeves and Wooster)!

A friend of mine came up to me a couple of weeks ago and said, "I saw Hugh Laurie from House on SNL -- he does a really good British accent!" I had to gently tell her that he puts on an accent for House...

I completely forgot about Jeeves & Wooster!

I don't think I've ever thought that Hugh Laurie was American. It seems quite instinctual to me to know that's he's British =\

I don't watch house, but I really like Hugh Laurie. I loved him in Spooks!

Okay, so this doesn't take place in England, but it's about taking on another country's cultural identity and also keeping your own. It is available in the US in the foreign film section:

L'Auberge Espagnole (The Spanish Apartment)

That is one of my favorite films!

"The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain" is set in Wales. That's almost the entire point of the plot.
