I was wondering if anyone here would be so kind as to explain a bit about cricket - or at least point me in the direction of a website that would help me?
I've looked up the basic rules of cricket, and I think I understand them. What I want to know now is more about the way cricket affects people's lives. I would love answers to any of the following questions: Who plays cricket? Who watches cricket? Would one play cricket as a child? As an adult? At school? Do girls play cricket? Do people watch local cricket matches? International cricket? Are there many professional cricket teams? What are the most important cricket matches? What times of year is cricket played? Are there class or urban-rural differences in who plays cricket? How popular is cricket when compared to other sports? And finally, how important is cricket to you? I know so little about the sport, I'm not even sure if I'm asking the right questions!
