Give us bread but give us roses....albeit a bit late

Time for a terribly overdue update - I know, I know, but there was senior week and packing and then graduation and MORE packing and then as soon as I got home I went and stuck my eyes under a laser and had to deal with that plus UNpacking so honestly there just hasn't been time.

I've thought about getting lasik eye surgery. My contacts haven't been giving me any problems or anything, but my eyesight's bad enough that I have to hold something no more than an inch from my face if I want to see it clearly without lenses, so if anything WERE to happen to my glasses or contacts, I would be rendered virtually blind. o_o But, I don't want to undergo any sort of surgery here in Japan. I'd have to orchestrate it along with one of my visits to the States.... But that's all beside the point, because mainly, I'm just super happy to hear that you had such a successful surgery, yourself! 8DD

I never felt entirely at home when I went to Furman, so it wasn't hard for me to leave. I knew even then that where I really belonged was back in Japan, so I was happy to be moving forward with my life. I've never had that feeling of missing a place, only handfuls of people. Facebook helps a lot with that, I find ( ... )

Well, the place I went to gets people from all over, and you can refer followup stuff to a local eye doc if you have one, after the first overnight visit. So I don't think it'd be impossible to do over a break while in the states, if you ever seriously decide to go through with it? If you do want to go to the place I went to (they're really awesome), you can probably crash at my house for however long :D and yes! Successful surgery is generally awesome, but especially so for this one XD

Yeah, Bryn Mawr was pretty special. I mean, a lot of it is tied to the people, but its also because we were all at Bryn Mawr that there were certain things we got to do, or were able to take part in that I won't any more. Also just all being together and having that community right outside your door is something I'm really going to miss.

Ah, sad! D: Why not? But yes, all my other requests were near Tokyo, so hopefully that spirit will be honored!
