Story By: lemon_bar
Art By: princesskirsty
Rating: R
Status: In Progress | Word Count:
Genre: Alternate Universe | Hurt/Comfort | Romance
Warnings: Some violence, mention and depiction of homophobia, bad language, sexual content
A/N: The inspiration for this came from re-watching the earlier seasons and thinking, ‘wow, Michael and Justin act so much like brothers’, which was quickly followed by, ‘Hey, I wonder how the series would be different if they were brothers’? There is really no other explanation or excuse.

Summary: Michael Novotny is twenty-six years old. He works at the Big Q, and he's more than a little in love with his best friend, Brian Kinney. It's a doomed romance because love is something Brian doesn't believe in, and he makes that clear with an endless string of tricks, never the same one twice. That's okay, though, because Michael understands that Brian is the way he is, and it's never going to change. Only, maybe it's not so simple, and the fragile balance in Michael's life starts to shift when his kid brother, Justin, returns home from Italy. When sparks start to fly between Justin and Brian, Michael finds himself facing a painful decision: preserve his fantasy, or do whatever it takes to look-out for his kid bother.
