That's right... you can own games. A permanent account that is absolutely rare, permanent, and utterly impossible to forget!
"Games" was scooped up by me in 2001 in the hope of turning it into an actual collaborative gaming portal for the site... a place where LJers could go and find other LJers who wanted to compete against each other online.
Unfortunately, LJ never went in that direction... LJ's developers didn't see the point.
(Um... developer guys?! I hear the idea worked just fine for Facebook. D'oh!)
It's currently set up as an individual account, but you can use it as your own gaming portal, or convert it into the ultimate LJ gaming community. (You could even rename it, if all you want is the PERMANENT account.)
I will gladly work with you and/or LJ to make sure that everything is transferred to your needs. Any costs involved will be your responsibility, however.
Starting at just $80 for an opening bid... $70 *less* than what they sold for the last time offered, but worth far more, considering the great name and the great cause. Makes a perfect Christmas gift for your favorite LJer!
If you want to make a bid, you must also make a public post to your journal, letting people know about this community. All bids without a public post within two hours of the time of bid will be ignored. Bidding increments of at least $5 are strictly required. Bidding ends at the end-of-day, Monday, Dec. 21st.
As a way of encouraging early bidding and encouraging people to get the word out about this community, I'm giving each bidder a chance to INSTANTLY WIN the auction! For each bid that you make, I will roll a 100-sided die. If I get 100... you will automatically win the auction with your current bid, at a fraction of what the final price might otherwise be! I will even allow bidders to outbid themselves -- in $5 minimum increments -- in order to get more chances of instantly winning the auction!
Bid early, bid often... and win! And be sure to tell your friends on LJ about the community -- NOW -- while you're still thinking about it!
