I've been absent from LiveJournal since the first of November, working on writing a (potentially publishable) novel in the sprint mode for the National Novel Writing Month. I'm participating in the National Novel Writing Month for the third year. This time,I've gotten involved with the local NaNoWriMo group.We met last night, starting around 10, and started writing at the stroke of midnight. I think I may have overdone the picking.

Last Saturday night was the big signal that fall is here -- the first freeze. Even before I knew the weather prediction, I had already planned to drive out to a local orchard to pick apples.
