FAKE First Year Together: Justice (June) Chapter 30

Aug 10, 2013 12:45

Our main salt shaker, the one I use every day when I'm cooking, has gone missing and, even though he denies it, I'm pretty sure my husband has hidden it. He feels that salt is the food of the devil, you see, and is always trying to make me cook without it. After conducting a thorough search for the salt shaker, I realized I wasn't going to find it ( Read more... )

Hello Miki! Thanks so much for coming by. I think the Dee/Ted scene was my favorite too. There were hints and allusions even in A New Day that Ted knew what was going on, but he has kept quiet about it until now. Although A New Day took place in May and Justice is unfolding directly after it in June, and therefore Dee and Ryo's new relationship is still rather young, the readers have been waiting for years ( ... )

I don't want any spoilers! "No comment" away! I really want to put my guesses in the comments, but I fear that if I happen to be right, I would ruin it for everybody by putting the idea in their heads! So I'm keeping it to myself.

It makes me so happy to hear from you! I'm glad that I can help support you now in a way you can actually see, rather than just sending "Good luck! You can do it!" vibes your way, which is what I've been doing for the past several years! Haha~ It's still difficult for me to comment, both because it's difficult for me to put my thoughts into words and because my comment will be out there for the world (and you!) to see, but I'm trying!!

PS- And it is strange that your husband has that fixation with the salt. Is it a cultural thing?

PPS- I forgot to mention how much I loved your Sylvester analogy! It was such a perfect visual!! I could totally picture Dee walking down the hallway with that big grin on his face (and feathers sticking out of his mouth! *snicker*)

I understand when people are nervous about commenting. The Internet can be a harsh place, and sometimes when a person comments on a blog, another reader or sometimes the blogger him/herself attacks the commenter for missing the point or having the wrong opinion etc. (Think Twilight-- some of those people were scary ( ... )

Wow, the next chapter already? How time flies! But I don't mind, no I really don't :D

Oh Bikky, how will you ever manage to ride on one of those horses to New York? *laughs* But I hope as soon as he overcomes his fear, it won't be very difficult for him. Bikky is a quick learner when it comes to sports.

I totally loved the Ted-Dee-conversation! Lol. But Ted is right, Dee and Ryo do really give themselves away. I wonder who will be the next one to find out about them. (Or the next one they tell deliberately. E.g., what about Ryo's aunt? Is he ever going to come out to her in the near future?)

And finally, Dee knows now that Ryo is checking out his butt! That's at least a little step in the right direction, haha. Thanks, Ted! :D

(Btw, please don't think I want to put pressure on you or anything, but how is the Karate-Oneshot doing? ^_^ )

Yes, Bikky is good at sports, but he's never before been involved in an 'animal' sport! So far he's still thinking of horses as equipment. He's soon going to find out they have minds of their own.

Ted is pretty smart in his own sneaky way. When two people are in love, they always give themselves away in small ways even if they think they're keeping it a secret.

Ryo's aunt Elena already knows about Ryo and Dee. In Chapter 10 of this story, she was having brunch with them at Ryo's apartment and after listening to bicker about whether or not Dee could have a third breakfast burrito, she said "Oh my God, you guys are so married!Ryo told her about himself and Dee in Poison, my as-yet-unwritten prequel to A New Day. The only people Ryo told were Aunt Elena, Bikky and Carol. He has no idea that Ted has figured it out! But in A New Day he was paranoid about his co-workers finding out ( ... )

Aw Bikky, I will so laugh at you! No offense :D I hope he picks a kind horse that doesn't throw him off as soon as he does too many mistakes!

Oh, so Elena knows already? Yeah I remember that line. Well I'll just have to wait for Poison then for the coming out scene. I love coming out scenes! ^_^

If that's the case, I'll go on happily reminding you again and again ;) Oh that looks promising! Dee, you are so naughty! And you know too well that deep down, Ryo loves this about you! :D

Chapter 31, which is at 4500 words BTW, has not one but two Bikky vs. a horse scenes in it.

I love coming out scenes too. But Poison is a long way in the future since Justice has to finish first. I hope you're still following my LJ when I finally start posting the Poison chapters.

Ohmigod (reels under onslaught of incredible reveals and plot twists). I can't handle this amazing plot, Brit, it's just too much! You will break me, and I'llgo into the asylum, wearing a happy smile and muttering mysterious things about the politics of the 27th, and nobody will ever know what I mean.

MIKE ISN'T THOMAS'S FATHER OH SHIIIT that is crazy but awesome news. It's like Luke learning about Vader but in reverse. "Thomas, I... am not your father!" "Noo- oh wait, that's great!" Now the only thing to question is whether wheelchair guy is Thomas's dad or some other relative. Either way, Thomas's chances of winding up in a foster home are looking slimmer, happily.

Bikky, still a dumbass. And a horny little one at that, but that's boys for you.

Ted, ultra cool, you stood up to Dee and even got some spoils out of it. Charge your favors wisely, and be a real friend to these two, and it will pay dividends for years to come.

Hope Shantaya is okay!

Dee and Ryo, just keep on being awesome cops and I will <3 you forever.

No, Mike is not Thomas's biological dad. Thomas's true parentage is a mystery that is yet to be revealed... Hopefully you won't be in the asylum by then!

Carol would be so mad if she saw Bikky checking out the tight pants. Bikky has just taken the first step on what will be a steep learning curve about horses.

Ted is right. Dee and Ryo do need an ally. But all of Ted's help won't save him from what happens to him a few months later at the end of Slave to A Gladiator. And Dee set him up for that.

Thanks for reading and commenting, Peacewish. Reviews are thin on the ground nowadays and I really appreciate the support.

Teddy, Ted boy, lemme hug you. I didn't think Ted was a hacker, did I miss something in the manga or stories?

Ted searching for opportunities. I'm totally like that.

I am SO looking forward to the next chapters.

Love you Brit!

I'd be a little careful about hugging Ted --if you're a girl! He can sometimes be a little fuzzy on what constitutes socially acceptable hugging protocols. Or maybe he just pretends so that he can hug too long and let his hands roam too low?

As Ted has pointed out before, he's a lot more observant than people think. He doesn't have Dee's looks, height or fire, but he makes up for that with his cunning.

In the first seven volumes of FAKE, Ted never went near a computer. But in Second Season, Sanami Matoh made him a computer guy. My FAKE arc is mainly based on Volumes 1 to 7, but I occasionally bring in elements of Second Season.

Thanks for commenting! The next chapter ought to be up in anywhere from 8 days to two weeks. I haven't yet checked with my betas as to their availability.

No, sorry-- no lemons for the next few chapters. I really ought to get busy on that Karate short story. That's just one big fat lemon. I think I can squeeze in a few hundred words on that one with weekend.

But thanks for reading and letting me know you love it!
