So I spent a frustrating 2 hours at Indro today trying to find clothes. I know that I am fat and middle aged but I don't think I will ever be ready to wear the ghastly prints and pastels from Millers Fashion Club/Rodney Clark/fat girl shop in Myers. When I was young and skinny and still lived here (I left 20 years ago) I shopped at the Mask. Now I ( Read more... )

And as a side note, they can be fairly hit and miss. They're pretty fond of 3/4 pants and 3/4 sleeves, two things I hate. idk. Give it a shot, though.

There's a shop my mum shops at called 1626, for larger sizes. I don't know if there is one at Indro, but there is definitely one in the Myer Centre in the city. I couldn't tell you what the styles are like though.

Also try places like Trade Secrets, for plus size underwear (they have some REALLY nice stuff, which doesn't come in smaller sizes) and Stones Corner. Good luck!

Thanks, funny thing is I work for the company that owns Trade Secrets (and lots of other brands) so underwear isn't an issue.

Don't Myer and David Jones do a decent clothing range for bigger girls?

The stuff I saw at Myers today was pretty yuck, about on a par with My Size or Maggie T.

There is a new line at Target that is actually really nice. I have found a fair few things there that you can actually wear for a night out, not just day wear. I'm fairly certain they stock plus sizing too...i'm a 12 - 14 and never have a problem finding nice things.

Other than that there are a fair few shops at DFO that may help - as long as you have at least half a day to trawl through the shops - try Table Eight, I spent way too many dollars there just last week!

If you're around an 18 - 20, Target is HORRIFYING.

have you tried la voca (sp?) it's the rebranded (and better stuff I think) Liz Jordon - they're on-par quality and price wize with Jacqui-e etc. There's one in the city in the big W shops diagonally across from Queens Plaza not sure where else.
