January Selection nominations

So we had a very good meeting today talking about Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell; almost an hour and a half on topic! I think everyone likes the book swap books they received as well, so success all around. We were all a little indecisive about what to read for next month, so we have some nominations, and we can pick one based on comments in a ( Read more... )

Othello is my favourite Shakespeare play (of the ones that I have read at least) so I'm partial to that at least!

On the other hand, I think it would be nice to do a lighter book, like About A Boy or the Earthsea book.

So that is my two cents!

All that talking about Wizard of Earthsea/Tales of Earthsea made me start rereading A Wizard of Earthsea as soon as I finished that fourth Temeraire book :)

I really want to do that one for book club at some point. It doesn't have to be this one, though.

Also, rereading it has reminded me that it's not quite as light as I had remembered. Awesome book, but some of the stuff that goes on is pretty scary.
