I always get messed up along the Mississippi River, but not so much with this version where you didn't have to place the state in the right outline. OTOH, I didn't SEE Hawaii and Alaska...sat there for ages trying to find two states I hadn't filled in. Duh!
I suck. I couldn't get all 50 at all, I think I got 42, and I couldn't spell Mississippi. Then I tried to do state capitols, like I might know those, when I don't even know the states, and I got 20, I think half of those were by accident. (start naming cities, they have to be the capitol of SOMETHING!)
So, I tried the counties of England, and could only get 5 of 48. But they have sneaky names, I actually knew some more that I didn't know the full official name of.
Well that makes me feel better about not even seeing the outlines for Hawaii and Alaska... *evil grin* Will have to try state capitols but I'm not holding out much hope that I'll get those!
I've almost got the English code words memorized, I'm pretty good at the presidents, great at the states, rusty on the capitals and have seen more Tom Hanks movies than I would have imagined. They're adding new subjects pretty rapidly -- I suspect my knowledge of the Bible books will be right down there with my knowledge of the Las Vegas hotels.
The geography quizzes will remind you how old you are: all sorts of new names in the last xx years. This ain't your 6th grade geography world any more!
Watch out! One of your students is going to get wind of this and you're going to be in trouble :-) I had a teacher in elem and then again in Am Hist in High School who made us do state names on a blank map along with capitols. I was having trouble with spelling on couple, but I think it was more my typing!
