happy Gotcha day! I love that term, never heard it before. It's way cooler than a birthday... because you BOTH get to celebrate.

I also give rescue and rehome dogs three dates when they get an epitaph :-) So Lady's dates looked like this 7/85 - 12/31/99 - 5/9/05. That way you could see when she got to her 'forever home'.

Nice! Emma's gotcha day (5 years) is coming up in July. I have to look up the day. I felt the same way with Emma's foster people. Would I be good enough?

Hoping to Colton's 11the Gotcha day.....give him a big scritch for me.

That's why I use the first Wednesday of June. Can't remember the exact date and it's not like I have it on a registration form or anything....

Congratulations on Colton's 10th Gotcha Day! Kyah and I celebrate our 11th anniversary on August 26. I was at first terrified that the Humane Society would reject me (yard not completely fenced, stated on application) and then horrified that they would let me walk out of there with an 8mo Aussie and no homecheck.

Lucy joined us 8 years ago last Christmas day. I met her a week earlier when Kyah said Penny's foster aussie was unworthy of living with us but that Lucy might be okay. Penny & Lucy came over for Christmas dinner to see how the girls would deal in my house, and then Penny left sans Lucy. Didn't transfer the papers for several months, to see how I dealt with 2 dogs (1st time for that), how Lucy settled in, and because the papers had to travel around getting signatures from 2 other co-owners.

Like you, I'm not sure I'll celebrate another anniversary with Lucy. I guess we'll have to celebrate every 25th day of the month, in addition to the day-to-day joys of living together.

I like the idea of celebrating on the day every month from now on. Thanks!
