"Idly" to Del means that they're moving at such a speed as to blur, though if one watches closes he might notice that there's one--or two--too many legs for a biped.
Del doesn't believe in limiting herself. To anything.

Jack stares up at at one of the yardarms, which for a second almost seems to gleam a soft silver.
He doesn't seem to notice, and turns to stalk down the deck.
