You could name the text. That would get you a couple of extra words. Also, type out "four hundred and forty four" and eliminate all contractions.
You'll be at 30 in no time.
As for the other 1970...well...good luck.

Actually, I discovered that the problem is that I haven't read two whole chapters of the book, so I'm boned.

I guess I'm going to have to skip all my classes tomorrow in order to write this paper and it only be one day late...

My standard advice on essay-writing is to define the terms used in the title. It (extremely belatedly!) occurs to me that the reason why that is a good idea, is that the point of writing an essay is not only, or even mainly, to provide the answer to a question. It is also to demonstrate that you know what's going on in the general vicinity of that question - what the terminology means, who the characters are, and how they all fit together (or don't).

In this case, you are probably expected to demonstrate that you know what "a model of scientific explanation" is, who Darwin was, what his theory of natural selection was, and how a theory (any theory) operates under a model of scientific explanation anyway.

Well...all of this is my theory on it, anyway!

You're right, but even so this essay is going to be pretty small. I'm still working on it, and it's going to be a day late. I should be starting it any minute now...
