I don't know why certain words are so "touchy" to some people. I've never done a full-on cleanse/fast before, but I know they're nothing new. They've been around a very long time, and a LOT of people I know (who are very health-educated and conscious) swear by them.

They way I see it is: You're educating yourself, and you're certainly smart enough to recognize if you get into any trouble. And how will you ever know if you'll benefit from it unless you try it?

I say go with what your sensibility tells you; I've heard some very good things about the Master Cleanse. I look forward to hearing your first hand results!

xoxo.

Is this something people could do to lose weight or is really meant to just be a cleansing device?

According to the book, if a person needs to lose weight, they will lose weight: 1 or 2 pounds per day.

If you don't need to lose weight, you probably will lose weight too, but you'll regain new body tissue slowly.

The girl I work with who is doing it, said she lost a lot of weight prior to doing the Master Cleanse. Now the Master Clease helped her lose the last stubborn 5 to 10 pounds.

Some celebrities used the Master Cleanse to lose weight, like Robbin Quivers and Beyonce (and urgh, I can't believe I just used the word "Beyonce" in my journal!)

We're all different, so give it a try :)

"We're all different and so are our bodies.

It's a complete waste of energy to constantly down on something you don't understand or disagree with. If it works for someone, just let them be!"

You hit the nail on the head (in the whole entry, actually), but you summed it up best right there!

I'm anxious to hear how well you do! I've done short cleanses and have been thinking of doing another this spring or summer. Not ready for the Master Cleanse, but may start out with something shorter and work up from there.

I'm very curious about it! Do you mix it with water? I could use a jump start on some weight loss! ;)

I said I was starting it April 7 -- that's not here yet.

And I'd highly recommend reading the book (not online information, as it's wrong and very misleading which can lead to TROUBLE.)

Get the book, it will tell you everything you need to know.
