Saw the endocrinologist yesterday.  As usual, I am more effed up than I thought.  He said I have a mild heart murmur.  WTF?!  I've had cardiac evaluations and NO ONE HAS CAUGHT IT TILL NOW?!  Apparently it's just a "it's there" kinda thing though.  However, I have to have a sleep study to address my daytime sleepiness and find out if I have sleep ( Read more... )

To address the heart murmur. I have had one all my life. Eventually will have to go on meds for it. Most heart murmurs are no big deal and far more common in people then most think. You should be good.

I wasn't TOO concerned about it because he said it's mild. My first instinct with all things medical is to search out information for healthcare providers related to the issue so I'm re-educating myself. It's been awhile since I had to deal with anything cardiac besides dyslipidemias and coronary artery disease. My poor nursing skills are getting rusty :( Glad to hear your experience though, it's always nice to know you're not alone :) I'm just keeping an eye on it for now.

sorry for your troubles BC. *hugs*

Have you thought of putting your kitty on more of a raw food diet? more protein based? i am learning that the starch in bagged grocery store food is very bad for them since they are carnivores by nature. i wonder if that would help...supposed to be good for allergies as well.

I put all of them on a hypoallergenic, grain-free, limited ingredient, novel protein food which has helped immensely. I can't do a raw food diet because Jinx is allergic to chicken and it seems all poultry, as well as sensitive to grains ( ... )

I understand. I am dirt poor right now and would love to put my kitties on a more protein, meat based diet.especially since my 13 year old is now showing signs of diabetes and i cannot take her to the vet because i don't have the extra 200 dollars lying around the house. I have heard of curing them naturally with just changing their diets and kitty insulin is about 40-50 dollars per month...........sorry for your troubles, i hope everything will be okay.
