Here's a suggestion. Rotate the vids you put up on the AlphaSite. Don't put them all up at one time.

OR - servers are relatively inexpensive now, and you could pick one up for less than the outlay of what you'd pay for that much space over a yearly basis.

Also, asking for donations - *not* selling* - for the downloads OR for site maintainance, etc would not be treading a fine line of legality, I think. The donations would be going toward keeping the site up, or simply for keeping the vids everyone likes up and available.

Most broadband servers don't give you a dynamic (unchanging) IP address (your web page url points to a dynamic IP), and also cap upload speed. I've heard they'll also go after you for setting up a server, especially if your bandwidth goes through the roof. You'd have to pay a dear sum to have server account, or T1 line.
