We don't know yet - only that she was kidnapped in broad daylight from the third row of a Target parking lot and - based on the condition of her body when they found her - has been dead almost as long as she's been missing.
Oh, I'm not saying to give him a free pass or feel sorry for him or excuse what he's done. If Jack is the man in the video, then he deserves whatever punishment is handed down - I'm not disputing that.
I'm just saying that when I look at him, I don't see what it is that I'm apparently supposed to see. Everyone else is saying they see a monster. Me? I see a frightened and very confused young man.
My niece is just a bit younger - also into music and acting, so maybe that's part of it with me, too.
Your right about his wife and their little boy. The picture of Jack and his son - it's obvious that he loved his son, and vice versa. And the way his wife talked about him, she adored him.
I've followed it because it happened in my home town. I go to that mall they found her car everyday. I used to live in the area they found the body. I went to high school with the kids of the Chief of Police that is the official spokesman. It all hits very close to home.
But I agree, this guy doesn't sound like the type of guy who planned to murder this girl. I wonder if all the media coverage scared him into doing something rash because he saw it as his only chance of escape? We may never know. I'm glad he's off the street though, and I'm sorry it came to this.
One of the few positive aspects of this entire case is how many people from all over the world have been drawn to it. I've spent a large amount of time the past two days sitting in a chat room on the KC Fox affiliate's website, talking to people from as far away as Yakima, WA and Osceola, FL... and of course, several from the KC/OP area that knew Kelsey, or Josiah (and what's been done to that boy is truly horrible), or her older sister, Stevie.
I agree - if he did it, then he deserves whatever is coming his way. I just wish I could explain why I'm reacting to his picture so differently from everyone else.
Look can be deceptive. Ted Bundy was well known to be charming, like many sociopaths are. Let's just wait until all evidence are in. Don't judge a person by his look.
