I've been watching this go down out of the corner of my eye, and mostly tried to refrain from delving too deep. Mostly because I could never be as diplomatic as you, and for every idiotic rant/excuse that she types up, my response is wont to be full of four letters words, with a couple of douchenozzles thrown in for kicks. This...person.. really, really, really just needs to stop. I am seriously failing to understand how she has retained any friends in this whole thing.

Seriously, just when I thought nyxiegate would be the pinnacle of ridiculousness in this fandom, someone MORE naive about their own personality and wrong-doing comes along. Sometimes there really isn't enough face for this palm.

Well, my reply on her LJ wasn't nearly as calm and measured as I usually try to be, and had a bit more profanity than I like to use when I'm actually trying to make a point, but I was so damn pissed at that moment I'm surprised it was even coherent.

I think she's going to come out of this mostly unscathed in the end, though. The post is so old that it's not really garnering any new attention, and now that it's locked, it's almost like people think it's beating a dead horse to keep addressing it.

And, seriously: this. Because there's a difference between what you say, laughingly, with your friends and using shit grammar to mockingly impersonate someone who's ESL. Because there's a difference between your mentally challenged relatives poking fun at themselves and you poking fun at mentally challenged people to a stranger, with the implication that such people wouldn't be able to understand her comments (I'm sure her relatives would be thrilled). Because context matters, the speaker matters, the addressee matters, and because just because your friends are fine with it doesn't mean every single person who fits into some type with your friends will be fine with it, and you can't just negate their opinion because YOUR FRIENDS weren't offended.

Because when someone tells you you hurt them, you should shut the fuck up and listen.

I'm fine. I was just pissed, because I know she hurt a hell of a lot of people I care about a great deal with what she was saying, and to have her laugh it off and try to excuse it away like that... it just pissed me off.

I didn't know who she was, either. Well, I've known since the therealljidol post blew up in her face and got her voted off, but that I just thought was plain ol' funny.

And I was absolutely floored when she said that. I mean, who does that? Aside from clueless asshats, who (over the age of, say, fifteen) honestly uses the "I've got a (wildcard) friend" defense with a straight face and expects people to swallow it?
