Reason #5,748 why I'm glad I got Lasik: I hate that stupid air-puffer thing!

My ex had Lasik and like a good spouse, I went with him. Watching the pre-op stuff freaked me out and I wished they had given ME a Valium, too.

The doctor WROTE on his EYEBALL with a MARKER! WROTE ON HIS EYEBALL!

Even if I was a good candidate, there is not enough Valium in the world.

Because of the astigmatism, I've worn glasses since I was five years old. I've had progressive lenses for about ten years now. I share your passionate hatred of that damn puffy machine and feel a similar passion about the glaucoma testing machine. GAH!

Oh, yeah, those suck.
The entire process sucks. I think they should give you a cocktail first. Maybe an hors d'oeuvres... =D

I have a complex about doctors and dentists, and that includes eye doctors. I get a bit panicky. I need a little pharmaceutical aid to be able to have a real eye exam with the air puffing and whatnot. Otherwise I tend to have panic attacks, cry, and hit the doctor. For some reason, they don't seem to find that very fun.
