Billy and I are ready to celebrate “Lost” and all its glory. The Dharma foods are loaded and the drinks are chilled. Showtime is right around the corner. Laura is coming over too. So I'm totally excited about Lost, but kinda disappointed in the episode. you?

i think this episode accomplished its job of laying the groundwork for the first pod of six episodes. i was fucking blown away by the first scene in which we see the others are civilized. in my opinion, it was the best jack flashback ever. it allowed us to see a darker, less chipper side of our hero. i like the angle they are approaching with him. i liked that benry gale alluded to the next two weeks being "unpleasant" for kate, and assumably, sawyer and jack. the scene between kate and sawyer in the cage was really sweet. it is the first time he was not a tough guy jerk trying to impress her. they are both equally scared and vulnerable. this should lay the groundwork for their eventual relationship. the ending was very anticlimactic. i don't care that henry gale's real name is ben. okay, i've synopsized enough. your thoughts please?
