I've never been much for gladiolas, but that picture you took is gorgeous. I might start to like them more. :) Loving the soaps, too, and wishing I could try some of those.
We have a little farmer's market in our park every Friday, and I love going there. I've gotten some incredible homemade jellies and jams and sourdough biscuits that melt in your mouth.
I used to not be fond of gladiolas, too. They seemed so formal and funeral. But when you grow them, they are gorgeous, and when you don't put them in formal arrangements, they are much prettier.
And, oh, I could go for some sourdough biscuits and homemade jelly right now.
I'm with you--gladiolus are prettiest out in a garden, or simply put into a nice tallish vase on their own. If I didn't have such bad luck with non-starter bulbs, I'd plant some.
Gorgeous colorful and delicious-looking items. Even the soap, a little--I thought the cedar soap was gelatin at first. We have a wealth of soapmakers at farmers' markets in our area, but theirs is mostly about contents (I usually go for soaps with goats' milk and shea butter, so good for my dry and sensitive sky, and a subtle scent) so it's usually in square chunks, not molded prettily like the Lone Star soaps.
