Comic Sans, Aphids, and Nothing to Say...

May 01, 2012 14:14

Andrew, Cody, and I spent the morning hoeing (take that as you will) and working in the greenhouse.  I ended-up covered in aphids which is, in fact, just as gross as it sounds.  That said, I have no pictures of it and no amusing stories to tell.

So, on that note, a word from on of my least favorite fonts...

I'm Comic Sans...

Ewwwww to getting covered in aphids!

I actually like Comic Sans. I always thought it was fun, although I'll agree it's probably not the most professional font.

^^points up^^ i second both of those - ewww to the aphids and, more importantly, i like comic sans, though i concur that it is not particularly professional. (i also like papyrus, apparently comic sans' drinking buddy). i like fonts with a little bit (okay, a lot!) of personality and find helvetica boring and arial even more so. more professionally i might use trebuchet or lucida sans or something like that, but for my personal correspondence, i often use comic sans.

Me too--I used to work in Corporate America and that second sign doesn't surprise me one bit. Wonder if this was in the Marketing or Public Relations department...

I like using Comic Sans where appropriate--that is, for signs and PowerPoint slides for graphic novel and/or manga-related stuff.

In general, I adore Times Roman, Baskerville, and Lucida (regular and calligraphy). I use Arial a lot at work because it's very readable and simple yet attention-getting (good for signs).

Yeah, I'm into typography...
