It's been a day and I've read pretty much all the reactions on my f-list and a few outside that. To me, this episode has been very much like the entire third season; hits and misses.
The few quotes I've seen sound like she's trying to built up the mystery. I highly doubt she REALLY thinks that Damon/Elena people should stop watching. Although some might! Strangly enough, this finaly kinda pulled me back in.
I definitly understand people feeling invested in and connected to fictional characters. But sometimes taking a step back and really reminding yourself that this is not real life is very helpfull.
TV=entertainment and escapism. And a good way to meet people (even online, I call it meeting people. I'm strange that way). But in the end, it is not your whole life. Some parts of this fandom seem to not realise that enough.

It's long and well worth listening to. There's nothing wrong with what she says. This fandom is just the worst sometimes.
