I've noticed that people warn for EVERYTHING. Sometimes the warning is longer than the actual fic! I mean, if your selecting NC-17, you know you're not getting Sesamestreet, right?

I get warning for non-con, dub-con and the like. But darn it...

I used to refuse to warn for anything but dubcon/noncon, and I used to get so much shit for it. On the one hand, I understand certain topics trigger people. On the other, I feel like I'd give away the entire fic (especially if there's a "twist") if I warn. Every time I read a warning for character death, I just skip the fic because why should I bother? I know what's going to happen already.

I absolutely understand triggers but there are so many! Even in just reading responses in TVD fandom and seeing what people find triggering... To me dub-con and non-con are things to warn for, as for sex and violence, but there is a line. If I'm spending more time reading the warning than reading the fic... And to me sex is sex, wheter it's het or slash. But I realise that this is just me.

I'll never understand having to warn for character death. A lot of it comes from feeling that people need to take responsibility for clicking on rating that say things like nc-17 or anything over pg-13. BEcause at that point you're leaving kiddieland behind, you know?

That is true. But wouldn't they also be in the tags? People still read tages, right?

I am happy that I know most of the kink-words now. Man, did I ever have a few surprises in the beginning LOL!

Now reading quit a bit of Hawaii fiction.
