Why am I up so late when I have school tomorrow?

I am completely absorbed by this baby kimono. It has been going along swimmingly, I absolutely love that I'm making something, and I get so excited to see what is written actually happen on my needles that I can't put it down. Here's a picture so far:

Wow, deep thoughts indeed. I'm very much a second chances person - if you screw it up, try and try again. If something goes horribly wrong, there was probably a reason. I often look back at my life and think 'see, that's why that went all wrong...so that this could happen.' For instance, Steve was made redundant in Thames and we ended up living with his parents for EIGHT MONTHS and it was sooooo hard... But I had no job in Thames. I was a stay-at-home mother. And there was little opportunity for that to change. And not a heck of a lot of opportunity for Steve to advance either. BUT, now, I have a career and a job I love, we have a house of our own, we were able to afford to have another child (I honestly don't know if we could have afforded a second child in Thames on one wage!) and Steve took those first steps towards a non-baking career. And of course, we have since found out that he needed to, because if he'd stayed in Thames, he would have had to quit anyway when his tendonitis got bad. So yeah. It was hell, and I ( ... )

stop trying to be perfect!! **takes a moment to contemplate her own advice...**

I love that kimono. how cute!! my Gramma tried to teach me how to crochet once, but I just don't have the patience for it. sigh. but I am going to have her teach me how to sew and tailor, so maybe I'll give knitting/crochet another go...

You know, I never could figure crochet out...something about having to do everything with one hook that didn't work for me. Knitting is so easy for me, tho. I find most people can do one or the other really well, and are very uncomfortable with the one they don't do well. So if crochet didn't work, give knitting a shot! I picked up a 15.00 teach yourself to knit kit at Wal-Mart, and I've thought it was one of my best investments.
