I really liked the first episode of this season, like everyone else. <3 I guess Dabb knows how we Sam girls like to see Sam. ;-> And I LOOOOVE the way Sam, for the first time ever (except at the beginning of S8, which I kind of consider 12.1 a fix-it for), believes he's really alone in this world, no Dean. He fights so hard, and he's so strong

Wasn't it wonderful!!! I loved Mary, Sam Smith really knocked that out of the park, and Sam being all on his own, and thinking that he truly is all on his own, really did hit hard.

I think the balance was great too, focusing on all the different story lines in just the right amounts.

So awesome - long may it continue!!!

Sam Smith is AWESOME!! Do ya love that her character died in the very first episode and TWELVE YEARS LATER she comes back with a major arc?? Only on SPN .... I loved seeing her and Jensen in scenes together, because they're both such good actors that they really bring it off.

I agree--the balance is perfect!
