It's Throwback Thursday at amilliondays, where you post about something that USED to make you happy, even if you can't imagine ever being into it now! (Or even if you can

I was younger than you, but I'd watch He-Man all over again. I liked the male and female characters, as well as how they interacted with one another & fought together, I liked the subtle notions of "another Earth" that were hinted at, and actually took a lot of the lessons to heart (including those shared by Orco). He-man was a hero to me, a good male role model, and set the stage for me liking characters like Thor and Nightcrawler. I also like all the cheese (which I understood even at a young age); imo a show doesn't have to be all slick or without a sense of humor about itself; long live Prince Adam breaking the 4th wall. Also, great voice acting in general.
Yeah, the voice acting really was extraordinary for the day. I agree--He-Man WAS a good role model--he was able to embody both the tough (but righteous) guy and the sensitive, more nerdy type in Adam. Ah, good ol' Orco--I actually never could tolerate him, but I loved Teela, Man-at-Arms, and especially the Sorceress.
I had to hurry from the bus to catch as much as I can; I still missed a few minutes, usually. I'll try to make sure to make the Voltron post! I'll have a lot to say about that one ....
Damn it all, I missed Throwback Thursday! I adored He-Man and She-Ra I'd run home from school and sit my ass down in front of the telly with some biscuits and just veg for an hour to these shows :D
There will be plenty more Throwback Thursdays to come at amilliondays, I figure, my dear.
You watched them too?? Right on, soul sista! Middle school was the WORST, so at least they gave me something not painful to look forward to for an hour right after school. I had to race to catch all of He-Man, too.
Jeff happened to be sitting behind me when I started the He-Man vid. We both cracked up! I don't know the show except vaguely, but it's still hilarious. Thanks!
