Thank you for reading! <3 The plums made for an interesting symbol, I found, and getting into Bucky's head is always so heartbreaking, but strangely beautiful.
Well. You know how much I loved this one. I rarely see a piece of writing so poetic, yet that flows so perfectly as prose fiction. It combines everything possible in both poetry and prose to come to a scintillatingly beautiful new medium that is both and neither. MAGICAL.
You've provided a perspective on Bucky that I don't think would occur to almost anyone, yet provided the best possible study of his character. Who would take the biggest badass of them all and explain his character with the life-cycle of fruit trees? ONLY YOU, because no one else is that awesome. He's an unnaturally created, dehumanized killing machine-- yet he tries to comprehend both the world and what's happened to him through the most fundamental process of nature, and succeeds.
Aaaaand, as usual, you're embarrassing me, but thank you so much! I'm uncommonly proud of this one.
Thank you so much for calling it poetic--I hadn't been able to write in too long, and I guess it came out like that. ;->
Aw, but Bucky's heart is so gentle, I believe. He's kind of a Ferdinand the bull. And I love writing about the growing and processing of produce, so this was a golden opportunity for it--and I learned a lot about plums, researching for this fic!
