Happy Birthday, Milly_Gal!

Jan 12, 2016 13:23

The happiest of birthdays to the gal who's a big part of what keeps us going and having fun around here.

We've been talking a lot about music lately, specifically (early) '80s music and our shared love for it. I was there for it, she wasn't.

So I made this playlist for you, Milly. Imagine you and I and septembers_coda are all hanging around together ( Read more... )

sexy sexness, slice of life, thoughts, it all comes back to music, brightly lit has a past, happy birthday to you, porn

Oh my giddy aunt!!
*rolls around in this post* I have my headphones in, I'm listening as we speak/type, Steve's got this goofy look on his face every time he wanders in because he knows just HOW MUCH I love chatting about music with you and he can see the stupid sized smile on my ugly mug, lol!
This is one of the most thoughtful and fantastic gifts honey, THANK YOU! Love you!! Expect me to pop back once in a while when I get the overwhelming urge and ramble about each of those songs *runs off to bop* ♥

Wow, this is a FANTASTIC playlist! You have so many of my faves here, the 80's were my era! I was lucky enough to see Nik Kershaw, The Thompson Twins, The Cure and U2 live back in the day! And I love Talk Talk's 'Life is What You Make It' and Tears For Fears 'Head Over Heels' they are both songs that still give me chills.

I'm going to be playing this playlist a lot!

YES, YES. Middle school was living hell for me. I was so full of dread and horror like every night, dreading the coming day. I woke up to "Head Over Heels" one morning, slowly coming out of sleep to its beauty, and I just felt literally 60% better. THAT'S THE POWER OF MUSIC, MAN.

That's awesome that you saw those guys in concert! What was Nik Kershaw like? I too saw The Cure and U2 in concert, and once was fortunate enough to get to see a recorded concert of the Thompson Twins, but never Nik.

I'm going to be playing this playlist a lot!

YAAAAY!

I can empathize with you, I hated school from the ages of 11-14 and music certainly helped me, and my brother-in-law used to sing 'Hey Jude' to me if I was miserable but change it to 'Hey June', so that song always makes me feel happy!

Nik Kershaw was great, it was a real last-minute thing too, between Christmas and the New Year, and I remember he was tiny (even with height added by his amazing hair) and the whole audience singing along to The Riddle!

I love that you came back!! And I really hope you do again and again. <3

You're so cute, and I'm so glad you like it, and I'm so glad you got so many awesome gifts for your birthday! I was afraid mine would pale in comparison to the others, but you've made me/it feel appreciated. <3 <3 <3

Men Without Hats? Get outta here--I started a religion for them. I could scrounge up Men Without Hats songs 'til kingdom come! But this one never fails to get me groovin. I didn't include the original video, though, because though I watched it in the mornings before school, it's uh ... creepy and disturbing. But kinda hot, because he's hot. But creepy.

I couldn't help myself, I was re-listening to the playlist last night and I had this huge urge to come and gush at you :D No hun, it did NOT pale in comparison, it was a thoughtful and well put together gift that's brought me so much joy, so thank you!

Men Without Hats - Safety Dance - MY GROOVE! Love that tune so hard!

The vid for the original of this song however was indeed totally creepy! lol!

You said you've listened to it a lot of times--I know s_c's listened to it quite a bit, and a few other people have at least once, but it's had 108 views as of this comment, so you really MUST have listened to it, a lot!! :-D I'm sooo glad you so enjoyed it. <3

I thought Ivan was SO hot in that video when I was a kid, and then I rewatched it as an adult and I was like, hmm ....
