This story is MAGNIFICENTLY crack-tastic. Princess Tutu was one of the odder anime I've watched. I never did finish the story (mostly because the ORIGINAL was, to me, also very crack-tastic), but this was a fun read! I have to admit the idea of Sam as a giant moose is a very funny mental image!

Also, it seems that Cas really does work better as a woman than a man. Maybe they should have gone with that in the show, but then oh no, she'd probably be dead by now.

Holy crap, I got a comment on this fic! (Last night I advertised it to an lj friend as "The Supernatural/Princess Tutu crossover fic no one was waiting for!" ;-) )

YES, the original is about as crack-tastic as it gets, which is part of why I loved it, but it is NOT everyone's cup o' tea, so I hear ya. (It looks from your icon like you're generally an anime fan?)

Maybe they should have gone with that in the show, but then oh no, she'd probably be dead by now.

Yeeaah, I was gonna say, that the writers wouldn't be able to resist some sort of hanky-panky with the boys, the fans would get mad, they'd kill her off ... argh. I'm re-watching the series from the beginning with someone new and realizing how much I miss seeing women on the show. :-/

I'm so glad to hear you feel she worked well as a female--I thought the same thing as I was writing it, like, "Wow, this is easier than writing male Cas!"

This story is MAGNIFICENTLY crack-tastic.

Ah, the highest compliment!! Thank you!!!

I would never have thought of combining Supernatural and Princess Tutu! I have an LJ friend, Maldoror, who actually combined Princess Tutu with One Piece. It was about as nutty as you'd expect, and even better, she DREW IT. It was hilarious!

When I started this LJ, I was more of an anime fan. With two exceptions, I actually made all my own icons because I happened to like the expressions on their faces. Goku, the icon I normally use (the one in the first post here), is one of my favorite characters.

It seems they don't introduce a female in the show who doesn't want to (1) bone the guys, (2) screw with the guys (Bela), (3) mother the guys, and (4) lead the guys away from the path of pseudo-righteousness (because quite honestly, people who live mainly off credit card fraud aren't exactly stand-up citizens, no matter how cool they are). So yeah, if Cas were female, alas, but he'd be dead.

It really is cracky! Made me giggle :)

(3) mother the guys

*growling*

(4) lead the guys away from the path of pseudo-righteousness (because quite honestly, people who live mainly off credit card fraud aren't exactly stand-up citizens, no matter how cool they are).*growling louder* This is a really good point. The mothering thing, and yes, THANK YOU about the pseudo-righteousness, the hustling and sleeping around and, oh yeah, killing and stuff. So basically we're left with the age-old female archetypes women are allowed to fulfill on a good old-fashioned man's show. *SIGH* When of course in the first few seasons it was the girl of the week--"Will it be Sam or Dean who kisses her ( ... )

I love how blase Sam is about everything that's going on around him. XD He's just like, oh, this? Yeah, Cas gave me back a part of my soul! So I guess I must have lost it... Weird, huh? XDDD There's something about that that's tragically true to how he is often written in canon, lol. (Sorry, Sam. I love you, I do, but jfc!) I haven't seen Tutu, so I don't know what's part of that world and what's your own, in melding these two series, but I really enjoyed God's Extremely SPN patois, especially juxtaposed against the very formalized, fairy tale tone to the paragraphs preceding, and Cas's own narrative here. Interesting read!

Ooh, thank you! I tried to meld both shows equally, so in terms of tone and character, whatever doesn't strike you as Supernatural-y is from Tutu. Plotwise, I had to come up with some of my own stuff, although demon blood, a beautiful dark-haired demon who at first seems like a friend, large black wings, a God-like character who is bent on writing the central story, homoerotic subtext, and even all the sleeping around when he turns evil, are common to both shows, remarkably enough. ;-) There's even the contrast between formal/informal language--Princess Tutu speaks quite formally, and Duck (her unmagical human form) is clumsy and straightforward and embarrasses herself a lot--just like Cas! YOU SEE WHY I COULDN'T RESIST WRITING THIS MASH-UP ( ... )

Your brain came up with another fantastic work here my friend. Having seen the show several times, it is really amazing how well you blended them together. Not to mention the characters you turned them into fit so perfectly. I am still giggling about Bobcat (Bobby) in a truckers hat. I am so glad to see you still writing. NEVER doubt how truly great you are at it. Having such a gift is a rare thing! <3

*sigh* My dear, you are the BEST. I was overjoyed to see your comments in my inbox! And I CAN'T BELIEVE you've actually seen this show!! You and I really have so much in common; it seems like I learn something new that we have in common all the time!

I had to write the fic when I realized the characters went together that well--surly Dean and Fakir; naive, gentle Cas and Duck; Rue and Ruby even have practically the same name! Both very mythical, archetypally rich series.

I am so glad to see you still writing. NEVER doubt how truly great you are at it. Having such a gift is a rare thing! <3

:-) I hold these words close to my heart. <3
