I guess I'm late to the party, but I only just heard about LJ's new policy of "flagging" entries that contain Adult Content. Because we must Protect The Precious Children. Or something like that ( Read more... )

I completely agree. This flagging thing is annoying.

By the way, would you feel comfortable if I could read your friends only entries? Because I do enjoy reading your public entries, so I'd really like to be able to read the other ones, too. But if you don't want to add me, of course that's perfectly all right too. Just wondering. :-)

I actually don't have many friends only posts. :)
If you've found any of my posts that are locked, let me know and I'll friend you so you can read them.

I don't write porn.

And yet we keep reading anyway.

I really think people should police their own kids.

There's nothing wrong with talking about sex. Sex is good. I like it. :)

Parents not policing their kids and trying to make everyone else do it is such an annoying thing.

What annoys me about this new LJ policy is that it is just pointless. Kids, who want to keep reading HP Slash, will simply change their ages on their profile. People will keep posting what they want to post, because really, its not like what kids stumble upon on LJ is worse then what they find elsewhere online.

People need to stop trying to babysit children. Its why there are parents.

It is very pointless. Kids are creative. They find ways. I don't want to be told that I need to censor myself just because a child might read the words "fuck" or "sex" in my journal.

Wait, what do they mean, "flagging"? Like in football? Are we going to get warned about adult content? I hadn't heard anything about this!

I think that it means that other users will be able to report if any of your entries (if they're public) contain Content That Is Inappropriate For Children.

Actually, maybe not. They changed some things around after enough people yelled at them.
