It's Friday now, the day after, and the world is still the same.
I think that for a very long time, the two things I will remember most about last night are that her eyes were open the entire time, and the liquid in the euthanasia syringe was pink.

Can I call you this weekend, if I need to? I think I have your number; I keep forgetting to program it into my cell...

No matter what. But I may have to call you back if I'm in the shower or something.
Something that may help with the hurt (and feel free to say 'screw that, it's dumb') is to make an ancestors altar (you can do with with just a piece of posterboard and photos.) ONe of my teachers told me the basics of doing a ancestors alter. I added my own spin to it.
Take pictures of all that you have loved and lost (including pets!) and make a huge collage commemorating them. Make sure that no one alive is pictured there. (trust me on this) You can then post it somewhere and from time to time, talk to them all. Its a way to honour them and it helps to see them "smiling and watching over you"
It could help
Love and strenght to you my friend. Now and always
