Well, I have been wearing the back brace for hours, I have practiced varied stretches and exercises, I have taken Ultram and Soma... and of course I hurt. I always hurt. I have accepted this so easily. Because it will not change. No matter what anyone tells me ( Read more... )

Call yourself whatever you want, love. I sure do. And whatever you want to be called, let me know, and I will certainly defend your wishes to anyone who dares say otherwise.

PC isn't about making us disabled folks feel good about ourselves. It's about making other people feel okay about us. And that's not our responsibility. We can call ourselves whatever makes the most sense to us, whatever is true of ourselves. If someone else is uncomfortable with how I choose to label myself, that is not my problem.
