Orientation, Day 1

Work at the new job was strictly orientation. I had conferences with all the local office managers, lunch with my new supervisor, and software training with one of the IT people. The software training will continue all day tomorrow. On Wednesday, I actually start real work. Everyone is wonderfully sweet and kind, excited to have me, very welcoming

there's always at least a week lag with pay (you work the full pay period, and then it gets processed through payroll and comes down to you about a week later)...i'm sure this happened at your old job, but it was prob so long ago... ;). although it sucks right now, down the road it will be good. hopefully you guys can figure out something for both you and him for medical, but if you actually have dental and vision, def. put him on - i pay cobra to stay on my parents, and it is sooo worth it - it's always affordable when actually offered, but not often offered in the first place.

There are technically no rules forbidding us to use blogging sites etc at work however when we are at our computers, we're more frequently doing case notes, making phone calls or replying to emails. I tend to check LJ before work or when I get home. I think you'll adjust quite well to less blogging during the day and enjoy having a more productive job.

cats can smile. we used to have a cat, and when he was purring and very content, he would smile. it was adorable.

Yay, smiling kitties! Rose seems to do it constantly. Also, she has tufts of fur above her eyes that look like eyebrows, so she has expressions.
