RE: Post -- (Which I zapped, because I couldn't get the icon right, but there will be one going up tomorrow from someone who knows how to work icons better than I do.)

*hugs your post though*

There, being: Abby's post.

And thank you for the icon.

I've edited the link to reach the new post. Thank you.

I should type in complete sentences; it reduces confusion! If you wish to use the Schanke-on-vacation icon, please take this "Abby's FoD Icon" version, which I originally made for her, without the little blue "Bright Knight" logo in the corner. (In the comment above, I actually meant to explain that I was using the Schanke icon in thinking of her; otherwise, happy Schanke might have seemed a peculiar choice, I worried. It's late, and I'm not entirely coherent. Sorry.)

I cannot tell you how MUCH this has made me smile and cry and love and laugh today. It is the perfect memorial, indeed.

*hugs*

Nick's wall of AV equipment would be perfect for setting up a viewing of Abby's vids, wouldn't it?

~returns hug~

My deepest condolences on the loss of your friend Abby.

I didn't have the privilege of knowing her but the outpouring of heartfelt memories is a true testament to the number of lives she touched in the short time she was alive.

I think the suggestion of donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association is a wonderful tribute.

Thank you so much. I appreciate it, truly. I wanted to get the two of you in touch about vidding; I wish I had pressed it when there was time. I told her about your Schanke vid over lunch one day.

Oh the Schanke vid. It was very kind of you to have passed that along to someone who would have appreciated the awesomeness that is Schanke. I'd still like to edit it down a bit but I haven't gotten around to it. I wish that I had now. It does make me smile, though, rough patches and all. I'd like to do another Schanke vid but not until I've gotten around to at least trimming the song to something a bit more non-FOD friendly.

I always give yearly to the auto-immune disorder association, which is a good catch-all for non-cancer issues.

On a totally unrelated note, I finally got the season 2 DVD set that was not scratched and did a very high-quality transfer to avi, and the result was not a much better file than the ones circulating the filesharing sites, just a larger file. I know that they edited the episodes for the DVD sets - removing the boom mike from "For I Have Sinned," which appeared in the broadcast version - but they basically used the broadcast-quality tapes to make into DVDs instead of remastering them, which I guess they decided wasn't worth the time or money. The result is that the screenshots from my files are ... well, still pretty crappy.
