It looks like I'm not going to get deeper into the stack any time soon, so I'm going to just go ahead with this list of links now:
Dungeons and Dragons (the '80s cartoon) scored two stories this year, both for Astolat. I enjoyed each in its own way. Both are very pleasingly canon-friendly. The longer is the more skilled, but the shorter serves up

I see that you wrote a Sayers crossover yourself! I'm still only just six or seven books into the Wimsey & Vane series, and I've never seen The Hour. Should I give "Returning" a try, or wait until I have more canon under my belt? At any rate, goodness! your new story already has more hits and replies than my stories gather over several years! That's wonderful! Congratulations! It's such a treat to see that coming to you, as it has so often been deserved!
(BTW, I caught up on Sleepy Hollow. Marathoned it New Year's Eve. ~grin~)

You have also seen it, yes? I won't be spoiling you when I continue here?

I wasn't entirely sure what to make of Cynthia's choice, as I really hadn't seen it coming before this special. I wish they'd built up to it more over time... or perhaps I just missed the build-up. (And I wonder whether the actress has a conflicting gig for this season?)
I also wish that a character had been given some sort of direct challenge to Trixie's exclamation that this wouldn't have happened if Cynthia had ever so much as held a boy's hand. That was an emotional outburst, because Trixie felt that she was being left behind yet again, and Trixie didn't really mean it as it sounded, I'm sure, but it's disrespectful to the sisters as well as to Cynthia, and it's a pernicious sort of idea.

It is, as you will have noted, based on the flashback in "A Fate Worse than Death". Most of those dark, dark tags relate directly to canon. Prostitution and Brothels, obviously. Assault by Daviau on poor Anna, and Canonical Attempted Rape of Janette herself. And then, if only implied in the flashback, Miscarriage leading to Canonical Character Death. All of this is Canon-Related and Backstory; and, being written by me, was dealt with in an Historical manner. Which is to say that I looked at the date, realized that Anna must therefore have been Anglo-Saxon, and did my usual research. Women had real rights before the Norman Conquest, and there is no way that her husband could legally have sold her to the brothel; so naturally she puts up a fight, which gives you Rape. ( ... )
