I gather you feel it's Libby's prerogative to tell the list. I'm inclined to feel the same way. Of course, there's bound to be a considerable response when she does. Everyone has always considered Screed to be a significant character. Even though he appeared in only a handful of episodes, he made a big impact.
Yes. I won't second-guess if anyone else feels like breaking the news to the list, but for myself, personally, I would not feel right anticipating Libby there in this. We have all lost an artist we appreciated and respected, but Libby (and some others) has lost a friend.
That's probably the best option! I cannot think of a better one, short of someone with the confidence and delicacy to personally contact Libby and perhaps be the one to bear the news to her. I haven't spoken to Libby in years; I'm afraid of doing it ham-handedly and hurting feelings.
(I had been considering asking you whether something had appeared on list that I hadn't seen, since I'm on digest. It's at most a 24-hour lag, unless something goes wrong, but...)
He was a very and multi- talented man. There are few actors who can create as vivid and memorable a character as Screed was. Although his appearances on FK were few, they were impressive. He added a good deal to the show.
I had no idea he was only 51. He's going to be missed in the theater (and other) communities.
I had always presumed that I would get to enjoy Mr. Kramer's work again someday. I knew (just vaguely, not as explicitly as quoted in the article) that his health was not first-rate, but I certainly didn't expect him to be the first of FK's major actors to pass.
Here's hoping that his last play does especially well.

As y'all probably know by now, I had NO idea until I saw it on forkni-l the Saturday after his death. I happened to be with friends at the time (ironically, friends Greg would have LOVED) which was probably a good thing.
Like his more local friends, I knew he hadn't been in the best of health, but wasn't expecting his death at this moment in time.
Greg and I were still in touch via Facebook and private messaging. It feels so odd to know I'll never again receive a funnily odd message, a bit of support, him wondering what I'm up to, a "wish you could comes see me in this," a "Libs, you'd LOVE Montreal."
It's been rough because some don't believe I actually knew him, and there's been no closure for me: No funeral, no one else who really knew him (I haven't heard from Bonnie yet), no one to ask if they know the cause of death. Plus, this was the worse of a string of losses in my life this year.
But, Greg wouldn't want me to mope. He'd tell me to write, to act, to sing, to dance, to keep on causing mischief and mayhem.

Hi, Libby. As I emailed, thank you very much for dropping by my LiveJournal. I'm so sorry that we've lost Greg. I'm also sorry about how the news came to you; Greer did the right thing, but I should have emailed you myself earlier.
I'm appalled that people have doubted your friendship with him. I know better.
I'm very sorry that you don't have access to attending a wake or funeral in person. Please accept my sympathy, and please bend my ear and borrow my shoulder if I can be any help.

And I will.--
